Stephen James 'Jim' Mecsery, 68; Pilot, Flight Instructor, Cos Cob Resident

Stephen James Mecsery , son of Stephen and Shirley Mecsery of Cos Cob, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 of heart failure at Yale Hospital in New Haven, at the age of 68. Born in Greenwich, Jim attended the Greenwich Public Schools and later went on to graduate from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. He began his career in flying at the age of 15 as a U.S. Air mail employee.

A 21-year-old man who described himself as the "Black Houdini" has been sentenced to more than 2 years in prison after pleading guilty to intending to sell marijuana, larceny and escaping from custody. Francois previously escaped from authorities after police raided his Cos Cob residence.
